Simón Bolívar was a Venezuelan politician and military officer, responsible for the founding of the republics of Bolivia and Greater Colombia. He played a prominent role in the independence of Colombia, Panama, Bolivia, Ecuador, Venezuela and Peru. Bolivar is considered both for his actions and for his ideas the Man of America.

Born in Caracas in 1783, he forged his thoughts on his travels in Europe. In Paris he met Napoleon himself and came into contact with the principles of the French Revolution.
